One of my favorite authors, JD Salinger, died yesterday of natural causes. He is most remembered for his novel, The Catcher in the Rye. That novel, with its main character, profane and winy Holden Caulfield, is read and despised by millions of HS kids throughout the nation. There has never been a film adaptation of this novel, mostly due to Salinger's disapproval of it.
(In an interview with Premiere magazine, John Cusack commented that his one regret about turning twenty-one was that he had become too old to play Holden Caulfield.)
See you in the afterlife Mr. Salinger.
